Verizon Missed Call Text Back Setup

Verizon uses a simplified system for conditional call forwarding. By enabling this, your phone will ring as normal, but if you don't answer, the call will be routed to Smart Text Back to trigger the automated SMS.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

    1

    Enable Conditional Forwarding

Dial the following code from your Verizon phone (replace [NUMBER] with your Smart Text Back number):

    *71[NUMBER]
    2

    Wait for Confirmation

You should hear a series of beeps or a voice confirmation that the feature has been activated.

    3

    Test the Line

Have someone call you and don't answer. Check if the automated text is sent to the caller.

    Common Setup Problems

Q: My phone only rings twice before forwarding

A: You can contact Verizon to extend the ring time (usually up to 30 seconds) before the call forwards to the automated system.

    Q: The code didn't work

A: On some newer Verizon plans, you must enable call forwarding via the My Verizon app or website instead of using dial codes.
